ScottishPower backs SMEs at Cheshire Business Awards - 03/06/2011

Small business energy users in the north-west might be interested to learn that ScottishPower is backing micro firms in the 2011 Cheshire Business Awards.

According to the Chester Chronicle, the energy supplier is sponsoring the Small Business of the Year award, which will be presented to the winning team at a ceremony on September 16th.

Small enterprises have until July 14th to get in their nominations before judging takes place on August 1st.

ScottishPower supplies cheap gas and electricity to around 145,000 SMEs in the UK and said it provides peace of mind for business owners at a time when the energy markets are volatile.

Meanwhile, research from Lloyds TSB found companies that do not take steps to become greener tend to miss out on opportunities for growth.

Its survey revealed a third of small businesses have witnessed growth as a direct result of going green.
