Business energy customers looking for a cheap electricity deal may be interested to hear that EDF Energy has received an award for the services it offers commercial users.
The company's business division was named Supplier of the Year at the 2011 Energy Awards, which were held in London last week.
It was recognised for its strong work across the commercial energy sector, which included signing a three-year deal with Morrisons that will save the supermarket chain £1 million a year on its bills.
Other major organisations using EDF include the Ministry of Defence, the Metropolitan Police and London Underground.
Director of business-to-business at EDF Sid Cox said it is a privilege for the company to receive the accolade.
"This award is recognition of the hard work and dedication of all the EDF Energy team members delivering value to our customers in difficult times," he added.
Securing a cheap electricity deal may be essential for many small and medium-sized enterprises, as it was recently stated by energy secretary Chris Huhne that bills in the sector are expected to rise by almost 20 per cent by the end of the decade.
