Large businesses looking for cheap energy deals may like to consider a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) solution, as this is said to offer a number of benefits.
Energy supplier npower has been operating such a system at a paper mill in Aylesford since 1993, providing steam and electricity to the site through its Cogen division.
In that time, it has invested £60 million into the plant, which is maintained by a dedicated team of engineers to offer a flexible solution to the enterprise's owners.
Head of Cogen and Generation Services Fraser Blunt explained. "Combined Heat and Power provides multiple benefits for business, combining lower carbon emissions with affordability and reliability."
He also urged the government to ensure proposed reforms to the UK's energy market do not result in CHP becoming a "forgotten technology".
Recently, npower unveiled new tools to help medium-sized firms take better control of their energy purchasing by offering the ability to renew fixed-tariff contracts early if prices fall.
