Energy-efficiency uptake 'to increase' - 13/07/2012

A Greater Manchester firm that aims to help introduce energy efficiency measures is expecting to see an increase in demand following the introduction of the Green Deal scheme.

The Manchester Evening News spoke with Green Deal Solutions (GDS) about the launch of the government initiative in October.

Interest in cavity wall insulation, loft lagging, solar panels and double glazing is expected to double as homes and businesses take advantage of energy-efficient measures.

The green improvements are fitted at no upfront costs and the supplier then recoups the expense in instalments through a charge added to a customer's energy bills.

GDS was founded by Dean Murray and John Leach in June 2011 and the pair expects profits to double in the next 12 months.
