Consumers looking to perform an energy comparison have been urged to sign up to energyhelpline.com's Huge Switch campaign before the deadline for registration passes at midnight tonight (April 16th).
So far, over 6,000 people have signalled their support for the scheme and the more individuals who register their interest, the more power the price comparison site will have when negotiating deals.
Director of energyhelpline.com Mark Todd said: "At present, 60 per cent of UK households have never switched supplier and have missed out on hundreds of pounds of savings as a result.
There will be no obligation for individuals who register for the Huge Switch to accept the price they are offered or change supplier, while customers are also able to specify preferences such as a green tariff or fixed-rate deal.
Energyhelpline.com is also taking less commission from suppliers than other collective buying initiatives, which will allow savings to be passed on to consumers.
