Green business energy options 'set to increase in Cornwall' - 06/10/2010

Companies in Cornwall could be set to choose from a larger range of options when it comes to business energy as a wind farm gets ready to turn on its new turbines.

According to the Plymouth Herald, two of the electricity-generating machines have been erected and a third is due to be installed at the Delabole wind farm this week.

Run by Good Energy, the farm will provide around 7,800 properties with cheap energy, which doubles the output produced by the site's previous ten turbines.

Chief executive of the energy suppliers Juliet Davenport accompanied North Cornwall MP Dan Rogerson on a tour of the wind farm and told the newspaper that many local residents had stopped to have a look at the new turbines.

Four structures in total are expected to be built, each taking around three days to install. The switch-on date for the turbines will fall in November.

Last month, Good Energy Group reported a six-month profit of £246,121 and a 5.5 per cent increase in revenue to £10.21 million, up from £9.68 million in the corresponding period of 2009.
