Business energy customers could cut their utilities expenditure by taking advice issued by the Carbon Trust, the organisation has claimed.
Firms that follow the Trust's newly published guidance, which includes a checklist along with examples of best practice, could reduce their energy bills by up to 30 per cent, making a significant difference to their bottom line.
Richard Rugg, director of Carbon Trust programmes, commented: "Waste heat and you are wasting money. Even though it's been slightly warmer outside, there's still plenty of opportunity to make heat savings inside.
He added: "From office-based businesses to retailers and manufacturers, there are significant opportunities to recover and reuse heat, save money and boost your bottom line."
The organisation pointed out that heat recovery could be one of the methods companies use to lower their usage and secure cheap business electricity bills, with a typical 250-person office able to save £1,000 by investing in a de-superheater.
