Green Energy Grants

Are Government Grants The Way Forward?

Green Energy Grants

Sustainable energy has been rising in popularity significantly, and over the years the use of solar panels, different types of boilers, double glazing and loads of other forms have become more commonplace in UK homes.

The government have also been growing more sensitive to green energy.

To encourage citizens to turn to green energy, they have set up grants to provide financial help to those who want to invest in green energy items, but may not be able to afford it.

The initial set up cost of many green energy items, such as solar panels, can be quite high. Yet the long term savings can be great, as well as helping the planet along the way.

To get hold of one of these green energy grants, you can enter an application. First you will need to decide what it is you need – a new boiler for instance.

There is then a small questionnaire on the government website HERE to see what type of grant may be best for you.

There are many different types of these grants, so this is super useful to work out what you are eligible for. You can then apply through the government website.

The grants range from things like boiler replacement allowance, which allows you to replace your boiler if it’s over 15 years old, to energy company obligation, which helps those with low income by having suppliers fulfil targets such as ‘home heating cost reduction’.

You can also easily switch to a green energy tariff, and save money in the process by comparing. See HERE if you could save on your energy bill.
