Please note: The summer collective 2021 has finished, and registration for the next one starts 12th August 2021.
This summer’s energy switching collective, presented by Energy Helpline, offers UK consumers a great opportunity to switch to a brand new, exclusive energy deal. If this is your first collective, you might be a bit confused about what it is and how you can join in. Check out our handy guide below for everything you need to know about this summer’s event, and how you can save money on your energy bills.
What is the Collective?
The energy collective is a club that runs four times a year that offers members the chance to switch to an exclusive energy deal. While switching is something that’s always available to you, the collective is a limited-time deal that you can’t switch to after the deadline.
How does the collective work?
After you register for the collective, energy suppliers bid to offer you the best possible deal. The collective is open to all suppliers, meaning there are potentially hundreds of different companies all vying to get your business.
After the registration period ends on June 15th, the winning tariff will be announced to all members the next day - on June 16th. We’ve made switching with the collective just as simple as the traditional way; our expert customer service operators will be at hand to sort out the whole process for you - including contacting your old supplier.
You’ll have until July 7th in order to switch before the tariff goes away for good, one of the aspects that makes collective switching different.
The power of bargaining
One of the reasons the collective is a powerful resource for UK energy customers is that it uses the power of collective bargaining. As more people sign up, the pressure for energy suppliers to offer a compelling deal increases, meaning that registering for the collective could help you save even more. The deal you’re offered is completely exclusive to members, so you must sign up in order to switch.
How can I get involved?
We’ve made registration easier than ever before. Just visit our collective sign up hub, enter a few details and we’ll let you know when the deal is ready. You can also call our experienced customer service team to register. Remember -you only have until June 15th 2021 to sign up, so act now to avoid missing out.
Do I have to pay to sign up?
Registering to the collective is completely free, meaning there’s no risk involved. Even if you’re happy with your current energy deal, it’s worth registering to see the deal that’s offered.
Do I have to switch to the chosen deal?
If you register and find that the offered deal isn’t right for you, that’s okay - there’s no obligation to switch, which is another reason why the collective is a risk-free event. It’s worth doing even if you’re not actively looking for a new energy deal, as keeping energy suppliers on their toes is never a bad thing!
